Technology - What is Quantum computing?
In general, Quantum Computing or Quantum Computing is a computing technology that has the potential to provide superpowerful computers capable of solving difficult problems in a matter of seconds. In the fields of science, health, and finance, quantum computing can accelerate discovery and innovation.

Quantum computing can be classified as a multidisciplinary field consisting of aspects of computer science, physics, and mathematics that utilize quantum mechanics to solve complex problems faster than classical computers. The field of quantum computing includes hardware research and application development. 

Quantum computers are able to solve certain types of problems more quickly than classical computers, by exploiting the effects of quantum mechanics, such as superposition and quantum interference. Some applications where quantum computers could provide such speed improvements include machine learning (ML), optimization, and simulation of physical systems. Use cases could ultimately be portfolio optimization in finance or simulation of chemical systems, solving problems that are currently impossible for even the most powerful supercomputers on the market.

What are the advantages of quantum computing?
Currently, no quantum computer can perform any useful task faster, cheaper, or more efficiently than a classical computer. Quantum excellence is the threshold at which we have built quantum systems that can perform operations that the best classical computers cannot simulate in a reasonable time.

What is quantum mechanics?
Quantum mechanics is a field of physics that studies the behavior of particles at the microscopic level. At the subatomic level, the equations that describe the way particles behave are different from the equations that describe the macroscopic world around us. Quantum computers exploit this behavior to perform computations in completely new ways.

What are qubits?
Quantum bits, or qubits, are represented by quantum particles. Manipulation of qubits by control devices is at the heart of the processing power of quantum computers. Qubits in quantum computers are analogous to bits in classical computers. Classical machine processors do all their work by manipulating bits at their core. Similarly, a quantum processor does all its work by processing qubits.

How to differentiate qubits from classical bits?
In classical computing, a bit is an electronic signal that is on or off. Thus, the classical bit value can be one (on) or zero (off). However, because it is based on the laws of quantum mechanics, qubits can be placed in a superposition state.
