Why do Dogs Like to Bite Bones? This is The Reason!

Interesting Info - Why Do Dogs Like to Bite Bones?
Since childhood, admin's friends have always warned us not to get close to these fanged animals, okay... It's natural, the reason is very clear, because admin's body is quite thin, aka super slim... heheheee

From that experience, the admin finally found out, what is the reason why dogs really like biting bones, do bones look sexy in the eyes of dogs or is there another reason? Without further ado, admin has summarized the complete explanation for you, friends. Just prove it !

STARTING FROM HISTORY
According to Dr. Joao Munoz-Doran, the head of a team of experts from Columbia University, explained that bone-biting behavior in dogs has been going on for 8 million years. This is because groups of ancient dogs wanted to find prey that was bigger than themselves.

Eight million years ago, Asia, America and Europe were still inhabited by various types of animals, so there was intense competition in finding food. This resulted in ancient dogs having to hunt in groups and look for larger prey to meet their group's food needs.

EVOLUTION OF DOGS
From this hunting habit, this resulted in the emergence of a new type of dog which had a different shape of jaw, head and fangs than before, namely having stronger jaws and bigger fangs than before. This new breed of dog was able to survive natural selection and pass on these traits to the next generation. So the descendants of these ancient dogs, namely wolves and domestic dogs, became hypercarnivorous animals, namely 70% meat-eating animals. In other words, ancient dogs evolved into hypercarnivores due to their behavior of hunting large prey in groups.

That's why dogs like to chew on bones and twigs to channel their hunting instincts even though at this time they don't need to hunt to get food.

Hopefully this article adds to your insight!
